What this is

Welcome to SoberOakland

I am a grateful person in recovery, in Oakland, California. I’m not a doctor, scientist, clergy person, or spiritual adviser, however I am a regular person who found out that not only is life worth living, but that I enjoy living it and living it sober. For more than 3 unbelievable years!

This site is my little labor of love — and hopefully it helps someone out, somewheres. All the info on this site has been helpful to me, in one way or another, and I want to pass it on! To that end, I’ll be adding more content as we go along, but there’s a bunch of good links & info here already!

I will be eternally grateful if anything I’ve said or shown on this website strikes a chord or is helpful to you πŸ™‚

I am an alcoholic, in Oakland, California. That said, many of the links and much of the info here is substance-agnostic and available nationally or internationally. Drugs other than alcohol are a big part of the story for many people, and there are communities, meetings and free programs and literature for everyone.

Here at SoberOakland you can find links to AA meetings covering Oakland, the San Francisco Bay Area, Marin, the East Bay, and Mendocino Coast, plus other places up North. SoberOakland also has info about Alcoholics Anonymous & other 12 Step groups.

Live a life that’s worth it in recovery! You deserve a full life πŸ’—

Congrats!

You made it to SoberOakland somehow, so you must be, at the least, sober-curious, and wondering where to begin.

You’ve begun! πŸŽ‰

You don’t have to drink or use today

get on the road to
recovery!
